Dear Customer,

As part of the PHP upgrade process which we are doing on our shared hosting servers, we will be removing the Alt-PHP handlers from our shared hosting servers. Once the alt-PHP versions are removed, it will not be possible to explicitly refer to the Alt-PHP handlers via .htaccess.

Sample Code:

---

<IfModule mime_module>

  AddHandler application/x-httpd-alt-php56 .php .php7 .phtml

</IfModule>

---

Going forward, we will be able to use only EA-PHP handlers which can be managed via the Multi-PHP Manager option inside cPanel. As mentioned in the PHP life cycle calendar, certain PHP versions have already reached End-of-Life in terms of support and hence we need to make this change at our end. Please refer the PHP life cycle calender in the URL given below:

---

We will do the hard upgrades i.e., forcefully upgrading the websites to PHP versions 7.3 or 7.4 after 31st Dec 2020 where we will be removing the older PHP versions(i.e. PHP v5.2, 5.3, 5.4, 5.5, 5.6, 7.0, 7.1, 7.2). If you use older PHP versions for your website then you may notice PHP warnings or error messages due to incompatibility issues post 31st Dec 2020. Hence, it is time to upgrade your web applications to work with the latest PHP versions such as PHP 7.3 & 7.4, if you have not done it already.

Please feel free to contact our support team in case of any queries.
